Kevin Graham lives and works in Dublin. His poetry has appeared in The Shop, Crannóg, Poetry Ireland Review, Abridged, The Stinging Fly, Magma, Ropes, The Journaland others. He was awarded an Arts Council bursary in 2010 and has been selected for the Poetry Ireland Introductions Series 2012.

 

 

 

 


 

 

Birds

 

If there are birds I cannot see them.

I can only sense their swooping

and constant watchfulness.

 

Maybe I am the one who is watching

the dark becoming darker,

the birds becoming brighter

the outline of their sorrow.
