Ingrid Casey is a poet, teacher of ESL and single mother. Awarded the Henry Hutchinson scholarship and Frank McGuinnes prize at undergraduate level while studying English and philosophy at Maynooth University, she has retained a love of language throughout her teaching career, and her literary wings have sprouted in recent years. Motherhood, nature, literature, philosophy and art inform her work. A native of Dublin living in Kildare, she has had poems published in The Moth Magazine in 2015 and Banshee Lit in 2016, and is working towards a first collection.
Has been resurrected, he is now
a piece of origami, a paper bird.
Twenty different sides, one for each
truth. Hanging from a tree in your
garden, he taught us how to fold and
unfold our faces, open to each other like
lily pads on a summer's day.
