It Isn't Déjà Vu

this peripheral swerve of windscreened light
burnishing a stand of firs against the slate
underside of a cloud,

a mountain's lit flank
revealing faint rills (famine scars?)
prodding a phantom

wound –– not so much 'was
I here?' as the felt moment's swift
migration to molecules, its wing-beat

signature in the air
