In a Russian Ice-Cream Parlour

after Ezra Pound

i

The translatable joy of your texts on my phone;

Sprinkles on an ice-cream cone.

ii

The proprietor answers to his sobriquet;

Regulars request sorbet.

iii

Three pistachio scoops lined up in a neat row;

Subtle braggadocio.

iv

The assassination of our senses tonight;

Complimentary vodka.

v

The extravagance of this gold-leaf-topped sundae;

Be us queens of bourgeoisie?

vi

Your fragmented pieces of golden honeycomb;

A hive of memories, gone.

vii

Our chocolate-syrup-lipstick kisses in snow;

Feelings frozen in photo.
