Hiring Operations Officer at the Munster Literature Centre

The Munster Literature Centre is seeking a motivated individual to fill the role of Operations Officer, which encompasses social media, book-keeping and data processing.

Founded in 1993, the Munster Literature Centre is deemed a ‘strategic organisation’ by the Arts Council of Ireland. We produce literary festivals, publish half a dozen titles per annum, offer workshops, residencies, mentorships, awards and competitions to writers.

The ideal candidate is an individual who is confident in their numeracy, knowledgeable of Excel, not deterred by the regular detailed manipulation of data and who has a close interest in the writing community in Ireland. The candidate will have strong IT skills and fluent written and spoken English.  Your knowledge and interest in contemporary literature would be crucial in the handling of our social media accounts. On the job training in our processes will be provided. The job is a full-time 35 hours a week position, with the opportunity of twice weekly hybrid working from home days after the probationary period of six months. Regular work is during office hours Monday to Friday, but as with any job in the arts there will be occasional evening and weekend work, particularly during the delivery of festivals, for which time off in lieu can be claimed. A proficiency in the Irish language is welcome although not essential. A 12-month contract will be offered with the prospect of permanent employment.

The Munster Literature Centre is proactive in EDI and welcomes applications from all social, economic, racial, ethnic and gender communities. Applicants must be eligible to work in the European Union.

Salary: €28,000
