Unsolicited submissions of poetry (for our autumn 2023 issue) are open now until 28th February 2023. *NOTE: We have now closed poetry submissions for Southword early as we have already filled out quota of fabulous poems which we’re able to take for our 2023 issues – we felt it would be unfair to accept more submissions under these circumstances. Thank you everyone who sent in your work!
Southword pays contributors €40 per poem. We welcome submissions of up to four poems per submission period. Further guidelines are available at our submission manager.
We are also holding the Southword Literary Essay Competition until 28th February 2023, which must be entered by a different submission method. Details here.
